Default Connect Xperia Z to PC- Take photos/music/videos into Sony Xperia Z

Summary: The post is aim to help users to connect Sony Xperia Z to PC with Android USB drivers for transferring video, music, game, image ect media files for freely playback.

The Xperia Z is a touchscreen enabled, full HD Android flagship smartphone designed, developed, and marketed by Sony Mobile. The smartphone was announced by Sony at CES 2013 and was released in February 2013. It is water and dust resistant, and features a 13MP Exmor RS sensor as well as a full HD (1080p) display, encompassed in Sony's Industrial 'Omni-Balance' Design. A cheaper variant called the Sony Xperia ZL uses the same hardware as the Xperia Z, but sacrifices water resistance for a smaller frame.

The phone also has a big screen, you must want to copy photos, music and videos to Sony Xperia Z for playback. So, if you have got one, you are likely to have tried adding media files to phone. However, most of users who are bundled with the Sony software package can easily connect it with the computer using Sony PC Companion, but sometimes it doesn’t work. After googling, I found the Sony USB drivers(USB drivers for Android phones and tablets are needed for connecting our devices to the computer) can help you to sync files without any error.

These new phones do not support mass storage anymore, but it does support MTP which allows you to add or remove files from your 16GB or 32GB of phone storage. MTP drivers are always included with the stock Android phone software — but could have been removed by Sony to include their own drivers. Here we show you below on how to download and install the Sony USB drivers.

Step 1. Download and install Sony USB drivers or PC Companion first for Xperia Z.
Step 2. Connect Sony Xperia Z to PC using that USB cable.
Step 3. Now wait for the computer to recognize the device.
Step 4. Several drivers including the modem, MTP service etc. will be installed automatically.

Once finished, you will see a new media device in My Computer. You can now easily put media and image files to Xperia Z USB memory.

Well, for the Xperia Z users, most of them would like sync video files to Sony Xperia Z from computer for smooth playback. In this case, the priority you need to concern is the Sony Xperia Z video format. From its specs, we know Sony Xperia Z video format is limited to MP4, H.264, H.263, WMV. If you want to take other videos into it, you need to change the format first.
