Q: In XP system, double click a program, “Open with…” dialog shows up, how to solve the problem?
A: when you surf on the Internet, your system configuration is probably modified by some malicious codes. Once you double click the application, it asks you to select open style, now here are two solutions (which are so applied to Win2000):
(1)
1. Restart the computer and press F8 to enter safe mode with command prompt
2. To execute the command assoc .exe=exefile (notice: there’s blank between assoc and .exe), the screen displays “.exe=exefile”.
3. Now close the command prompt dialog, press [Ctrl+Alt+Del] combination to call up “Windows Safety” window, press [Turn off] button and then select “Restart” option to start the computer with normal mode, then all .exe files can run normally.
(2)
Open “My Computer” dialog, then:
ToolsFolder optionsfile types
Press “New”, type in “.exe” (without inverted commas), and click “Advanced”, select “Applications” then press “OK”.
