1). First of all, you should disassemble your laptop, take the motherboard out, here you could find some disassembling manuals for some main laptop brands, such as IBM, Dell, HP, Compaq, Toshiba.

2). 2.Searing-iron or jointing station. I use Weller WES51 Analog Soldering Station, Power Unit, Soldering Pencil, Stand and Sponge, and I repair this item, the settled working temperature is about 800-850°F

7). DC Jack and AC adapter for Apple laptop

14). Start unsoldering process with adding some new fresh solder to all nine contacts. This will make old solder melt with flowable, then the DC jack could be removed easily.

16). The surface of the connected hole may look is very dirty, which is that the result of the fluxed tin
You can use the tooth brush with alcohol to clean up the melting solder, although there is not necessary, but let you feel is very clean .

Nice informative post. Although it is descriptive and therefore doesn't look as complicated but still while dealing with laptop parts it is always better to let the professional do the job because laptop repair is a highly technical work and it is certainly not worth taking a risk with this costly machine.

The manual of EVERY product is going to tell you to fully charge a battery prior to first use. Such batteries are generally not produced with a 'full charge' and you want to be sure the charge is full for calibration of the battery software (i.e. indicator software).

Great thread! I actually am having issues with the power jack on my laptop. However, I do not have any experience in soldering. This is unfortunate, because I would love to open it up and fix the problem myself. Instead rather, I think that I will have no choice but to take it in to get repaired. What would be a good approach to finding a good repair shop? 613-742-7233 Thank you.

Default Panasonic AG-HPX300 MXF File to Mov for Mac

QuickTime is a very popular video player, it's easy to use and yet powerful. But it doesn't accept MXF files, but now there are so many video files adopt MXF format, so if you happen to have some MXF videos, the problem comes soon. You must convert MXF files to other video format like MOV which is compatible with QuickTime, then you can enjoy MXF files with QuickTime.

Unfortunately, the Panasonic AG-HPX300 takes MXF as its output format, so QuickTime can't play videos shot by Panasonic HPX300 cannot.
